Great Service Stories from Library Staff

‚ÄčA patron brought her granddaughter in to play at the library today. After a bit she came over to the desk and told me that she wanted to give her heartfelt thanks to our library system. She started bringing her granddaughter to EL's storytime over two years ago and transitioned with us from our initial low attendance preschool storytime, to the much more heavily attended toddler storytime. She thanked me for being willing to change our program based on community needs, and expressed her appreciation for the programs we offered because those activities are so important for children in smaller towns with less going on. She also credits regular visits to storytimes and events in Tumwater, McCleary, and Montesano for helping her granddaughter acclimate to other children in a group setting and learn important social cues which helped her transition to preschool without a hitch. She ended her praise by saying, "Thank you for all of the important work that you do for our community."

A patron visited the library and asked us to stamp his library passport. He gave us one of the 2010 passports to stamp. He said how much he enjoyed going to different TRL libraries, and commented on what a good library system we have.
