About the Library:

The Timberland South Mason Library opened near Shelton in 1974 in leased quarters.  In May 1989, the City of Shelton joined Timberland and the two libraries (South Mason and Shelton) were combined. The residents of Shelton voted to annex to Timberland for library services in 2009.

An Education Job Information Center is located at the Shelton library.

The Friends of the Shelton Timberland Library meet every fourth Monday of the month at 1 p.m. If the fourth Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting is moved to the third Monday of the month. This is an active group of community volunteers who care deeply about their library. They have many volunteer opportunities for community members. If you are interested in being a "friend," come and join us!

Author Talk: Bill Lindstrom

Local author and former Aberdeen Daily World editor Bill Lindstrom will talk about his new book, “John Tornow: Villain or Victim?” A quarter century of research went into Lindstrom’s reexamination of the life and legend of John Tornow, regaled as the Wild Man of the Wynoochee, which still fascinates more than 100 years after being hunted to his death. Lindstrom will sell and sign copies of the book after his talk.
