Getting Started with the IT Academy

Welcome to the Washington State Library Microsoft IT Academy through TRL.  The IT Academy offers technology courses on three levels - basic digital literacy skills, Microsoft Office Skills and advanced skills for IT Professionals.

TRL offers free access to the Microsoft IT Academy for all Timberland patrons through a  collaboration between Washington libraries, Microsoft, the Washington State Library, Office of Secretary of State and the Washington State Legislature.

Before You Enroll in the IT Academy
Before you can enroll in classes on Microsoft software such as Office and Windows, you need the following:

Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID)

TRL Library Card - If you are enrolling from some place other than a Timberland library or a Timberland WiFi network, you need your TRL Library barcode number and PIN.

New to Computers?
Start with the Digital Literacy classes. Learn the basics about using computers, email and the Internet. You don't need to enroll - just take the classes.

Already Enrolled?
Go to Microsoft E-Learning and log in with your Windows account.
